My home recording studio is an all-new set-up. I upgraded my old studio in December 2004 after the release of my debut album '1969'. I wanted a lot more flexibility and control from my new studio. I considered lots of different set-ups before settling with the one I did. At the heart of the studio is a Roland VS-2480 cd, a 24 track digital recording workstation complete with onboard effects and mixing capabilities.

I am seriously impressed with the 'warmth' of this unit, it's

totally 'pro-audio' quality. Attached to the VS is a keyboard and mouse for ease of use and editing. A Packard Bell flatscreen monitor provides all the visual information I could ever need whilst working on a music project.

I decided to stay with Roland with my choice for the monitors. I have installed a set of DS7 monitors in my studio to complement the VS. They work very well together and give an ultra detailed picture of the sounds you are working with.

At the moment I use a guitar synthesizer for all keyboard sounds in the studio. I choose a Roland GR-20.

Drums and bass are courtesy of the Boss Dr-880.

Guitars of choice for recording are Ibanez, Line6 Variax and Peavey. I still use (and love!) the Line 6 pod for all guitar sounds. For a clean sound he sends the signal straight to the desk of the VS2480.
