Hi Folks

I'm almost ready to go at the next CD, just a bit more time to get myself into the zone before I 'loose my life' for a while.
I'm excited.

I want to draw your attention to my myspace page this month. It's http://www.myspace.com/scottadamscdprojects but you could always click the 'check me out' button on the front page of this site.

I've gone back in time a bit this month and been listening to my first Cd, 1969. I have enjoyed listening to it again so this morning I did a complete overhaul of my myspace page and dedicated the look and feel to 1969.

You can hear the opening track off 1969 called Razorwire in full on the page, have a listen and see what you think.

Also I have uploaded two pictures of my new Rob Williams guitar (SA1969) for you to look at. I hope you agree it looks stunning. I can report that it sounds better than it looks too!!!
Check out the video on YouTube, copy and paste this link if you are interested.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wvO8b3Eu5g My user name is IBANEZRULE or you could just search for Scott Adams if you want to see all 5 videos currently posted on there.

Not much more to report this month folks so I won't go on.....

See you next month

Scott

April 2007

Hi everybody

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the Easter weekend. I'm on holiday over Easter, lessons begin again on Friday April 13th.

I love this time of year it spells the end of the dark nights and it's the time when I start to think about recording my next CD. I will spend some time on this project while I'm off work. I will get some bass and drums recorded so that I can check that everything is going to work out ok. Stressful!!!

I just got hold of my new custom built guitar from Rob Williams, it's without doubt the best guitar I have ever seen, played and heard. This guys guitar puts all the other guitars I have ever owned to shame and by a considerable margin. I'm very happy to announce that I have an endorsement with Rob Williams guitars as of now and I couldn't be happier. In my opinion they are the best guitars available and make most machine manufactured guitars look lame. You can not buy 'Rob Williams' quality off a shop shelf. If you are in the market for a high-end, handmade guitar that you will love for the rest of your life give the man a call on 01686 689120. You will not regret it. Over the next month or so myself and John will be making some serious noise about the endorsement, we intend on filming a high quality video/audio demo of the stunning guitar Rob built for me. You can look forward to some truly sublime tones. For the moment check out the image of my guitar on the front page of this site. LOTS MORE TO COME.

Hope you have a great Easter and I will see you soon with more news on my next cd called 'Broken' and my Rob Williams guitar endorsement.

Regards

Scott

March 2007

March 2007

Hi

With Spring just around the corner it's time again to start thinking of entering the recording process. It seems like a long time since I did any recording at all. The next CD will be important for me (although they all are) . I think at this early stage that it's going to be a lot different, which I hope will turn out to be a good thing. The CD will be called 'Broken' (I think!!) and will be another 'melody focused' CD not featuring vocals. On the subject of vocals I get a lot of people suggesting that I should team up with a singer and mix vocals with the music I create. To set the record straight 'I choose' not to include vocals for many reasons, the main one being that the music is not designed to be sung by any other instrument than the guitar. It's a choice I make and is not down to the fact that I can't find a decent singer.

It will be the first Cd of mine to feature all tube amps and a new line up of guitars, namely Rob Williams and PRS. I can't wait to get going. I usually start on my week off over the Easter period and with any luck I should get it done a lot quicker this time round as I'm using a familiar recording system (the same one I used for "Swimming with Piranhas").

Just so you know I've got a few videos up on YouTube. Click this link if you are interested in having a look. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ibanezrule&search=Search

If this doesn't work use the YouTube search feature and look for me as ibanezrule

You can see my new PRS guitar and have a listen to it running through my Cornford Harlequin amp. I have had a lot of very nice comments on YouTube.

I'm going to leave it there folks and I will see you in April.

Regards

Scott

Feb 2007

Hi Folks

Hope you are all well. It's been a busy month this month, and to be honest I'm glad Januarys out of the way.

I've spent a lot of time on the 'tone-trail' this month with my partner in crime Mr John Boswell. It's all down to the fact that I am starting to miss recording again and need to start a project as soon as. First thing we looked at was amps. i bought a Peavey JSX head in the summer of 2006. It wasn't for me so i needed to find a 'tone' that will set the tone for the next CD. We started by doing some internet research and quickly found that some of the biggest amp manufactures in the world don't have sound files on their sites (MESA BOOGIE sort it out!). To me that's like VW's site not showing you a picture of their cars. Oh well. myself and john took a trip to london and ended up in a shop called 'Chandlers'. Great shop run by a couple of guys who really know their stuff. We played all the amps that took our fancy and ended up buying a Cornford Harlequin combo for my home studio. The one thing that really impressed me with this amp was the unique tone it had to offer. Very clear and precise. An amp were as a player there can be no excuses. No excessive gain to hide behind, I like that as I always think the player and the guitar can really shine through. So that amp will form the basic 'tone' for my next CD.

I consider the amp to be really transparent and upon plugging in my current guitars i found it wasn't really what I was looking for. So I sold all my guitars. (this has been a stressful month , a bit like moving house and realizing you just moved into the street from hell!!) I'm currently waiting for a custom made guitar to be finished for me. It should be ready in time for April when I plan to start recording. A fresh start then for me come spring and already i can tell it's probably going to do me the world of good. I feel refreshed and like it's a new beginning for me (which it should be). I'm feeling really positive about the new Cd too. I know it's going to be another move forward for me and that always gets me going and aids the writing process no end.

I can't decide what it's going to be called yet, but rest assured I have lots of ideas, I just need to settle on the one that means the most too me.

See you in March

Scott
